For the Soul

Fridays get me thinking about the weekend and food and soul recovery from a long week of work.  I always begin dreaming of the weekend dishes I’ll make with the treasures I find at our farmers market stop on Saturday morning…and the downtime. This was a twist on a classic recipe I tried a few weeks back: Chicken noodle soup with vegetables, orecchiette pasta and wilted kale.  


Some of you may remember my friend Alison from previous photo sessions, in fact I’ve photographed her on two continents now. Alison and Ben are expecting their third baby girl in June and I was so sad that I might not get to photograph her when we moved home from Brazil…until the stars aligned. When she was in DC from Rio de Janeiro last month I stole her away from her house-hunt to capture these.
